Our Hope for the Trail fundraising campaign is coming to a close in about 27 hours. In the midst of it, we’ve welcomed (and enjoyed the heck out of) our new stud colt, Flynn, made some significant personal transitions, and have still managed to raise almost $13,000.
Because he promised, and you came through, Kevin also managed to squeeze in a trip to Walmart with the dear ol’ Uni-lazy. It took great courage and denial of dignity, but he pressed through and made me proud. So, without further ado, I present the following…
Sometimes you’re called to do something that makes you incredibly uncomfortable. You’re pushed WAY out of your comfort zone to make strides for the greater good. You step out in faith, because you know that’s the only way the thing will happen…through the strength of One much greater than yourself.
And I’m not just talking about wearing a Uni-lazy to Walmart.
I’m talking about life, in general.
We’re all called to do things that make us uncomfortable because that’s how we learn to stretch our faith. If we stay where we are nice and cozy, we don’t really need faith, do we? But you know what else?
We don’t get anything important accomplished.
Things that matter.
Things that make a difference in the world and in the lives of others.
That’s why Kevin wore my Uni-lazy to Walmart. He believes in what we’re doing out here. We both do, and that’s why we continue to ask for your help, even though that puts us outside our comfort zone, too. We stepped out in faith, bought this property and put our own investments into a barn and covered arena, because we felt like that’s what we’ve been called to do.
And in the midst of the discomfort, we’re believing that Someone far greater than ourselves will be the one to make it go.
Something important is being accomplished out here. Hope will spread throughout a community that needs it…to those with four legs and those with two (and sometimes none at all).
Would you consider stepping out here with us into the Great Uncomfortable?
It will all be worth it when we can stand back and watch the amazing spectacle that will play out before us. Kind of like the people in the aisles of Walmart, watching a grown man in a big, brown Uni-lazy.
